Just picked up the RME ADI-2 Pro AD/DA. This converter sounds awesome ! Very impressed. The team at Giraffe Audio in Birmingham UK are always very helpful and highly recommended for anything pro audio related.
This is linked via the digial AES in/out from the Focusrite L56. Its definitely a step up from the D/A conversion on the Focusrite.
